ARCC Testing Center Aide

Position Purpose

To advance the purpose of Hill Country Christian School, execute the school’s  Mission, and uphold our Core Values by supporting students with accommodations in our testing center.

Reports to the Director of ARCC

FlSA Status

Non-Exempt, Full-Time (32 hours/week)

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 - 12 months of similar or related experience
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Must be skilled in handling multiple tasks simultaneously and be flexible to cover other duties as needed. 
  • Must be a Christ-follower who upholds, in word and deed, the Hill Country Christian School of Austin’s Core Values and Statement of Faith.
  • Must faithfully attend a church whose fundamental beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith of this school.

Key results area: 

Testing Center Monitoring 

  • Oversee the daily operations of the testing center, ensuring a structured, calm, and distraction-free environment
  • Maintain and regularly update the testing calendar to reflect all scheduled exams and accommodations
  • Coordinate with faculty to receive and organize testing schedules and materials in advance
  • Provide a supervised testing space for students with approved accommodations
  • Administer tests in accordance with documented accommodations (e.g., extended time, small group setting)
  • Read test questions aloud to students when required by accommodation plans
  • Monitor and track extended testing time to ensure compliance with accommodations
  • Ensure a quiet, focused, and respectful testing environment at all times
  • Use professional judgment to determine appropriate responses to student questions during testing
  • Support students by clarifying directions or questions when permitted, without compromising test integrity
  • Guide students through academic questions only when accommodations allow
  • Work independently to manage testing center responsibilities and daily workflow

Faculty Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with teachers across divisions to support student testing needs
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with faculty regarding student accommodations and scheduling
  • Print, organize, and prepare all testing materials provided by teachers
  • Collect completed tests and return them promptly and securely to the appropriate teachers
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling student information and accommodation details
  • Ensure all testing procedures align with school policies and academic integrity 
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently move about inside campus buildings and outside on the grounds.
  • Frequently communicate with co-workers and others. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations whether in person, via email or telephone.
  • Regularly be able to lift between 5 to 20 pounds.
  • Possible exposure to a variety of childhood and adult diseases and illnesses.
